The mother has an important job, to love and care for this fragile girl, that adores and idolizes her mother. Mothers mold and shape their children out of their expectations, values and demands, which follows them the rest of their lives. As in the short story “A taste of life” by sarah paretsky, you meet Daphne. A neglected child raised by an insecure mother, that could not put her ego aside in order to raise a child. This text is a bitter example of a mother that failed miserably at parenting, leading to immense jealousy and a daughter whose life is now filled with insecurity and solitude. |
