'Washdays': Analyse af kortfilm om skam og sengevædning

The short film “Washdays” starts with the main character Kyle, who is washing his sheets in the bathroom while his mother is watching him. He runs off to school but arrives late. The teacher scolds him and insist that he brings a note from his mother the next time that he is late, and then the teacher gives him 20 minutes detention. The next morning, Kyle lies in bed with the wet sheets, again. As he washes the sheets, he complains to his mother about being late again. Kyle asks her to write him a note for the teacher. Outside school, Kyle reads the note and see that his mother has written about his bedwetting problem to the teacher. He tears up the note and went to a medical facility, but the secretary lady tells him that he needs to be 12 years old to see a doctor alone. Kyle goes to a supermarket and steals a pack of diapers. Later that day the shopkeeper tells his mother about the boy stealing from the shop. The mom scolds Kyle about being a thief, then he brings her his backpack and she discovers the pack of diapers. The mother gets a sad look in her eyes, and then hugs Kyle.
