Wikipedia shows the meaning of phrase “Pester power” like “"tendency of children, who are bombarded with marketers' messages, to unrelentingly request advertised items".[1] The phrase is used to describe the negative connotations of children's influence in their parents' buying habits.
But for me it means that a child is spoiled. I will take example from my own live. My friends from Germany had a boy 3 – years old , which are late baby ( both parents are 44 years old ). They love him so much and he doesn”t know a word “NO” from parents. As a rule, parents do not take any action until hysterical. And the child falls to the floor in the store and chokes in his own cry just because his mother did not buy him a toy. The reaction of the parents is confusion, a feeling of helplessness, shame and a desire to quickly end this "concert". As a result, the child achieves the desired.
After talking at home, the child begins to complain in the kindergarten that his parents beat him. An employee from social service left 2 weeks with this family, until has seen how the child manipulated of parents. And she has written a plan for child education. The plan includes such parts:
