The Vietnam War, the twenty year, seven months and 29 days long war filled with several mass murders including the My Lai massacre in the village Tu Cung and a considerable number of bombings flying to North Vietnam.
North Vietnam, who teamed up with communist allies, believed they were fighting for independence and unification of the country, North Vietnam was also convinced that they needed to fight in order to save the South Vietnamese from exploitation of the United States.
While on the other side of the world, the U.S government was busy inviting themselves to the second Indochina war. They saw the involvement as a way to stop communism from spreading further.
From the soldier’s viewpoint
“The average soldier’s day is horrific” says Andrew Baily, a 19-year-old soldier from Tennessee. “First when they scout us, you got to take a test, if you’re smart you’ll fake being homosexual, I personally hate those little dirty bastards” Baily revealed. Another soldier said, “War is like hell, you never know when it’s going to end, it only brings misery and there isn’t one good thing about it”
Thanks America
Thanks to America hundreds of kids in Vietnam are handicapped thanks to Agent Orange, a poison that was sprayed on trees in Vietnam. Thanks to America 1.1 million people died in North Vietnam, but we shouldn’t forget Vietnam’s crimes. There is still those 50.000 American soldiers who died during the Vietnam War.
