In this chapter, we meet Mr. and Mrs. Dursley. They have a son called Dudley. Mrs. Dursley has a sister, which she will not have any connection with, because of she and her family’s behavior against several things. They also have a son in their family, his name is Harry Potter. One day Mr. Dursley goes to work, and everything is suddenly strange. As he watches the news, they start talking about strange things like owls flying by daylight, shooting stars all over Britain and upon all that, he also heard someone mention the Potters. On this night, we also meet Albus Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall, who is actually the cat that had been following Mr. Dursley all day. Dumbledore and the professor talk about Voldemort, while referring to him as “you-know-who”. The rumors say that Voldemort killed Lily and James potter. He also tried to kill their son Harry, but when he tried, he lost all his powers. Now Harry has to live with Mr. and Mrs. Dursley because they are the only family he has left, and Dumbledore thinks that it is the best solution. Therefore, he sent Hagrid to deliver him.
Chapter 2
Ten years later, Harry has learned to live with the Dursleys, although they do not like having to live with him, and only see him as a problem. Someday, it becomes Dudley’s Birthday. He gets thoroughly spoiled with lots of presents – thirty-six to be precisely. The family decides to go to the zoo, and Dudley brings his friend Piers. Harry was supposed to stay at Dudley’s aunt’s house, but since she had broken her leg, that was not an opportunity. As they go to the zoo, uncle Vernon makes sure to let Harry know, that if he does anything stupid, it is going to have serious consequences. When they arrive to the zoo, Dudley and Piers want to go to the reptile area, and this is where something strange happens. Harry looks into the cage of a snake, which starts winking at him. Harry looks around and then he winks back at the snake. Shortly after they start talking like it is completely normal. Suddenly Piers is screaming behind Harry and another snake has broken out of its cage. When they get home, Harry gets all the blame and has to stay in his cupboard for unlimited time. As he lays in there, he thinks about his parents, and tries to imagine how the car crash could have went.
