So, to summarize: this text tries to convince the reader that using the Internet can form your dark part in you.

When you are using the Internet, you are isolated from other people, but alas, modern society is like that. We can’t live without the Internet, it has become part of our lives and we don’t even notice when we use it.

Dr. Catriona Morrison, the research leader at the University of Leeds, said in the text that the Internet plays a big role in our lives, but a darker side accompanies its benefits. And I consider this argument to be true, because simply walking along the street will not even take 5 minutes to not see the person with the phone in his hand (unless, of course, you are walking in the forest). And this leads us back to the “Internet Addiction” title.

People who devote a very large part of their time to the Internet or listening to music are often very depressed or just not happy.

Catriona said that their research shows a close relationship between Internet addiction and depression. But at the same time she mentioned that they are not completely sure about what is true: depressed people use the Internet more than other people or excessive use of the Internet makes people depressed. Personally, I think that excessive use of the Internet makes a person more self-contained and depressive.
