Analyse af Jeffery Archers 'A wasted hour'

In the Novel “A wasted hour” by Jeffery Archer, we meet a girl, studying American Litterateur. On her way to Stanford, where she is always hitchhiking her way. She is really critical about who she wants to ride with, but then she finds a ride, that looks descent. She thinks it will be a quiet ride, and wants to get it over with, but when they begin to talk, she realizes that this might be a really good trip and ends up as one that she will never forget.

At first the title “a wasted hour” sounds like someone, who has spent an hour on something that was just at waste of time. But when the story goes on, you realize that it’s the other way around. It is nothing but a wasted hour, as she meets an interesting person, named John.

The story is about a girl called Kelley, who is currently studying American Literature. Since she was twelve years old, she has been really interested in literature, and her dream is, that one day her stories will be read by people studying American Literature. She comes from a poor family, where they don’t have that many money, and that is part of the reason, why she is hitchhiking. But also, because her supervisor has told her, that if she wants to be an author, she needs all the life experience she can get. Bu hitchhiking, she meets a lot of new people, and she gathers a lot of experience.
