Michael Jackson died when he was only 50 years old but achieved a lot in the time he lived. He was nicknamed "King of Pop". He has made many big hits, one of the biggest songs he has made is “Beat It” from 2008. He has made 20 albums.

The title of the song is “Man In The Mirror”. I think the theme of the song is the need for a change in the world and with this he means that he thinks you should start with yourself if you want to make a difference to what is happening in the world.

The lyrics begin with him saying that he wants ”for once in my life “ l.2…to make a change. That means that he sees himself like a rich and privileged man walking down the street and seeing all the starving kids for the first time.

Later in the text he says to you, the listener, that you can´t close your mind either, meaning we all need to do something.

I think the melody fits well to the song and it is harmonious. The video, which I think is very important to watch with the song, shows a lot of crises from around the world. We see the Civil Rights Movement in the US with Martin Luther King and the murder of Kennedy, we then see wars from all over the world and the ending of The Cold War. We also see Ghandi, and he is actually famous for saying “Be the change that you wish to see in this world”…
