Nosedive is about a young woman called Lacie. The episode is set in the future, and is about how social media might mess up the next generations.

In the episode all people care about are their social media ratings and their “perfect” lives.in the episode the community is built on the social media ratings and how people see other peoples ratings through lenses in their eyes.

In the beginning of the episode it seems like all Lacie really wants is a better rating so that she can get a discount on the apartment she wants and move out of her younger brothers house.

When Lacie goes to her workplace in the start of the episode it really shows how much people care about the ratings and etc. because when Lacie accepts a smoothie and gives a high rating to a coworker that her other coworkers are mad at, her coworkers starts giving her anonymous low ratings.

Throughout the episode you then find out that Lacie isn’t really happy.

She doesn’t really want to keep pretending to be happy, perfect and have good ratings, but wants to express her feelings. The first time we see clearly that Lacie isn’t happy with hiding her feelings is when she is at the airport because she is going to her old friend Naynay’s wedding and her flight is cancelled and the lady behind the desk wont do anything to help her and Lacie then yells “just fucking help me!” She then gets low ratings from everyone around her, which shows how people show no empathy or compassion but only judgment.
