The dishes and traditions vary from region to region. Hindus and Sikhs do not eat beef. The cow is considered sacred in Hinduism. The Brahmins are strictly vegetarian and do not use strong spices, while Muslims only eat halal meat and thus no pork.

Drinks

While tea is the preferred hot drink in Northern and Eastern India, coffee is more common the further south you go.

Caste System

if you are born into your caste, you are expected to marry someone from your own caste, and every caste is associated with certain jobs. The term caste comes from the Portuguese word ‘casta’, meaning family tree.

And the lower castes hold the jobs with the lowest wages. The casteless are forced to do the dirtiest jobs. Some Dalit children are sent to the sewers to clear away the sludge with their bare hands. They are not allowed into the temples

Hinduism

Hindus believe in reincarnation. They think they will be reborn after death. They can be reborn as either human or animal until they end up in the world of the gods.

And Hinduism believe in karma. The better your actions, the better your position in the next life. Thus, moral action is more important than ritual actions in Hinduism.
