The text is about a dangerous hobby, where mostly young men, are surfing on trains, so called “train surfers”. They are performing daring stunts on trains.
In the text we are hearing about some boys that are doing these stunts. [NAVN C],19, knows that his hobby is dangerous, but he believes that his mother can just drive him to the doctor if he falls, , this can mean that he is unclever and doesn’t see the real issues with dicing with death. He believes if he dies, he’ll be born again, this can mean that he belongs to a religion where you will be reborn.
There are many stunts you can make, and [NAVN A] is laying under the trains and kicking stones. He does this for attention, and he thinks that he is impressing girls, but actually he’s not impressing any girls, he’s just dicing with death.
[NAVN B], 15, is laying in the hospital, because of an injury he got of a stunt that he made, which made him rip most of his scalp of. His grandmother and mother are visiting him every day.
Just days before the accident happened, Mrs. Motsemme spoke to him about the dangers of playing these games, but it didn’t seem to help.
