A school shooting is a massacre that takes place on a school.

The victims are primarily kids and teachers and the school shooters often use a firearm in the shooting. The phenomenon is mostly known in the states, where they have the highest number of school related shootings

Why did I choose this topic?

Important to look at the mental state of the shooter and the victims

Who are the shooters and where does the government fail?

The safe school initiative states that 76% of the school shooters are caucasian, which I find interesting because you often associate violent crimes with coloured people since that's what media like to focus on.

Over 70% of the school shooters were victims of bullying and have had a history of suicide attempts and experienced symptoms of extreme depression which again is disturbing when 75% of students struggling with mental illness does not receive mental health services or treatment

It makes it a even bigger problem when many parents can’t realize or recognize that their child is suffering from a mental illness nor do they want them to take medication if they are diagnosed and on the other hand there’s a lack of funding to school counselors.
