School Shootings and Gun Control in the US

Some were hiding under the tables; others were just standing with sweat on their face, begging for mercy, while the two predators, that were armed to the top started shouting. All of sudden the two boys started shooting people who were hiding. People were crying, praying and probably thinking: “what the hell is going on here?” Impulsively the two boys committed suicide, and the nightmare was over. April 20, 1999, Columbine High School massacre. This tragedy has provoked several discussions and debates about the gun law, especially about the availability of firearms in US. The NRA which means National Rifle Association is an organization. They are in charge of America’s gun industry. Despite their power and position, they refuse taking responsibility for gun violence. I believe that NRA has a responsibility; they got a part of the blame. They are blaming the entertainment industry for gun violence, which is terrible lack of responsibility. They are blaming other industries, when they are the primary factor in this subject. Don’t misunderstand me. I am not saying that it’s all NRA’s fault, because it’s also the entertainment industries fault, but not the whole part. I think that NRA hasn’t contributed enough for guns security system. I mean they won’t even build safety-locks on guns, although they can prevent hundreds of tragic deaths every year. I call that lack of responsibility and pathetic. Over 5000 children were killed in US one year, while Japan had a count on 0, how is that possible? Many, many, many school shootings has occurred in past the 30 years, to be honest, too many! The victims have been executed, by persons who have or had mental problems, deficiency on attention to the individual persons, social problems or just couldn’t handle the pressure, and went crazy. “Almost every school shooting could have been prevented in some way or another, we just have to spend the necessary time and money to figure out how.” Wayne Harris (The father of Eric Harris) spoke these well-performed words. I believe in these words, and I support his ideas 100 percent. I think that schools must put more focus on social help; they should add some therapy lessons in school time, which will gather the class, and solve their problems with each other. Will this work, or will the madness continue?
