Nelson Mandela is the first president of South Africa, who has black color. He served as president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He is also known as the revolutionary figure, who became an anti-discrimination figure of black people. His reign focuses on removing apartheid influences by combating racism, poverty, and inequality. Nelson Mandela was born in Mvezo, South Africa on 18 July 1981. His father, Gadla Henry Mphakanyiswa, was the local chieftain and member of the Royal Council and his mother, Nosekeni Fanny. Nelson Mandela was the last of thirteen children. Born to the royal family of Thembu and the Xhosa tribe, one group of people spoke in Xhosa in South Africa. In the 19th century, the tribe was known as the Tambookie tribe. Nelson Mandela spent his childhood with his two sisters in the village of Qunu, in South Africa He was the first child to feel a school bench among his family. Nelson Mandela was the only child of his brothers who received a good education from his family. When he was 7 years old, he was admitted to a Methodist school. Nelson Mandela married three times, in his life. First, Nelson Mandela is married to Evelyn Ntoko Mase. They had four children and they divorced in 1957. Second, Nelson Mandela is married to Winnie Madikizela, who at that time was his younger wife, which was 16 years old. They was 2 children, and they divorced in 1996. Thirdly, Nelson Mandela is married to Graca Machel, a widow of former president Mozfetch Samora Machel died in a 1986 plane crash. In June 2004, Nelson Mandela finally decided to retire.
