Childhood
Nelson Mandela was born 18th July 1918. He grew up in a little village in the country site.
He was looking after cattle and sheep in an early age, and he was starting at school when he was 7 years old.
He runs away to Johannesburg when he was 23 to escape an arranged marriage.
Family
He lived with his father, who had three wives together with 9 Siblings.
Nelson Mandela’s Father had three wives, Mandela was born of the third wife and they called him Rolihlahla.

As Rolihlahla started at school he was the first in his family.
Because the white people, would not call the black people by their African name, his teacher, had to give an English name to Mandela, so she called him Nelson.
