In the story we meet a boy. The name of the boy is Gavin. Gavin liv with his father and mother in Africa. Throughout the text, Gavin thinks he is being condemned by his parents, and when Gavin is about to reach puberty, he gets many negative and violent thoughts about his family and himself.

The main character of the story is a 12-year- old boy named Gavin, he is trying to grow up. He is filled with jealousy and anger because his sister Amanda prefers to spend her time with their mother, only when she is at home. The text we can also see quite clearly that Gavin misses his old playmate, and he is really aggressive in his thoughts because of her.” He felt he hated her. He wanted the plane that took her out of Africa to crash, and she would be killed.”( page 2. Line 6)
