About a week ago, I decided to leave my home country Denmark, I never travelled far, I have never been outside of Scandinavia. Then I decided to travel to another continent, but I didn’t have the money for it, it was too expensive, but then a close friend of mine told me about this website called Couchsurfing. I searched it up and found out I had to live with people in the country I was travelling to, I was a little skeptical at first, but I decided to give it a try, and all I had to pay for was the flight. I got to visit Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey, I booked a flight and was rather nervous about the people I would be living with. I got there, drove in a taxi to the place I was supposed to stay, and when I got there, I met the kindest people I have ever met, they brought me inside, made me a meal and showed me my room, I unpacked my things and they told me they would show me around in the city, and they also they were speaking English. They showed me some attractions, as ‘’The Blue Mosque’’ that was build in 1616 and the big bazar, I think that I got a much better view of the city and a better insight of how people lived there, they already knew the attractions and could tell me so much stuff I didn’t know of. They brought me back to their place, we ate, I took a shower and got to bed early because we were going on a cruise the next day, were I got to swim and have fun with them, also we saw lots of other things in the city and I got to shop. It has now been 3 days since I got home, and I already miss the people and the place.
