The whole concept of talent shows is very interesting to me. When i watch a talent show like x-factor or America's Got talent, I think to myself “how can these people perform in front of so many people?” and whilst most of the participants can be so unbothered. Maybe it is just me, but I could never in my life perform in front of such an audience even if i wanted to. It really takes some boldness to do so.

Raw talent

In many of these shows especially the “Voice” shows the participants when at the audition, are judged only for the talent they possess in their voice and not by charisma and stage performance. On the other hand, shows like “x-factor”, “Britain’s got talent”, “American idol” and so on are not judged only by their voice but also by their stage performance and presentness. The judges of course also play a huge role in a talent show, because when a person performs whether it´s singing, dancing or any kind of performance, the judges must be able to tell “does this person have the potential to further develop their talent?” and “in what ways can this performance keep getting better and while keeping the viewers occupied?” and that is quite a tough job.
