Analysis of “A tale of two Americas and the mini-mart where they collided”
” There is no beauty better than intellect” Everyone has dreams and step by step we focus on getting closer to our unfulfilled achievements. We are responsible for where we end up in life and therefore, we need to be in tune with ourselves to make sure we are on the right path. The TED talk relies on Raisuddin Bhuiyan who was shot in the head by a white supremacist. Raisuddin Bhuiyan miraculously survived and wants to portray that America needs to change for good.
The TED talk “A tale of two Americas. And the mini-mart where they collided” is held by Anand Giridharadas who is of Indian descent. The TED talk is based on a story about a white American supremacist, Mark Stroman and an Indian immigrant, Raisuddin Bhuiyan working in his mini market. Anand Giridharadas begins his speech with the question the shooter, Mark Stroman asked Raisuddin Bhuiyan repeated times in the mini market, “Where are you from?” L. 1 S. 1. Anand Giridharadas obtains the audience’s attention by saying the line reportingly and higher. The shooter, Mark Stroman got a death sentence and served in prison for 8 years. Raisuddin Bhuiyan was shot in the head and soon after his recovery, he wanted to change the view on Islam after the incident happened in 9/11. This actively illustrates that he does not support the widespread concern and increase of islamophobias among the Americans, as well as action must be taken and taken cognizance of. Despite nearly dying Raisuddin Bhuiyan forgave and wanted his shooter out of prison. In fact, Bhuiyan also sued the state of Texas and its governor Rick Perry to prevent them from executing Mark Stroman.
