Analyse af Zöe Sharps novelle 'Tell me'

The feeling of being lost and abandoned is something everybody knows. Feeling like it is you against the world is more common than you would think. Is this something that can be solved by one person? Or is this something you need to work on yourself to fix. This is explored in the short story “Tell me” written by Zöe Sharp released in 2006.

Grace is the protagonist, and she shows real compassion towards the girl and can from small things deduct her entire story. These small things that Grace sees - shows that it is not the first time that Grace has dealt with this sort of thing.

The only thing we hear about her looks is that she wears a white disposable suit, necessary for her job, “She was already dressed from head to foot in her disposable white suit” (p. 39, l. 8-9)

The little girl that Grace Investigates is a girl approximately 16 years old. She is wearing a mini skirt and a skimpy top, without a jacket. “Her hair was badly cut, and her fingernails were bitten short and painted purple” (p. 39, l. 31-32). She did not take care of herself, and clearly, she had nobody to do it for her.
