Rashford comes from a working-class family, his mother is Melanie Maynard, a single parent who often had to work multiple jobs to feed their family, sometimes skipping meals herself to make sure that Marcus and his siblings ate. Rashford’s career started quite funny. When Marcus was five years old, he was playing as a goalkeeper in the local football club, and his biggest idol was the american goalkeeper Tim Howard. At the age of 7 a lot of scouts had seen that this kid was special, so he went on a week trial with Manchester city, but just a month after he joined the Academy of Manchester United, where he has played ever since.
