Karakteristik af 'About a Boy'

We have seen a movie about a man and his life. The movie is called ‘’ about a boy.’’ The movie is a about a rich handsome man named Will, who doesn’t have to work, because his dad have written a very famous Christmas – song, that he still earn money on. So Will is spending his father’s hard earned money. He lives in an apartment in London, and he has an expensive car.

In the movie we meet two protagonists, Will and Marcus. Will is a man and he is 36 years old and lives alone. He is the man that everyone envies, because he has a fast car, nice house, and meets many women. He has a new woman every two months. Will is also completely free of responsibility. (‘’He hated doing were things that adults made him do, however well – intentioned those adults were’’) (P. 84, 6). Will is a man who loves to do what he likes, and not what other peoples like. He is a man who (‘’liked the media pages, because he felt he was qualified to fill most of the vacancies on offer’’) (P. 81, 13 – 15).

Will’s life is empty, superficial and useless. He has no job, no family and therefore no real life, but Will is happy with it and is proud of the way he has divided the time when other people are normally at work into half – hour units. Will thinks of ideals when it comes to women, and lifestyle He suspects that lifestyles that are different from his end up in chaos and unhappiness. Will is a man how cares about himself and does not want to get involved in any sorts of serious problems. He refuses this argument because he thinks that he is not putting himself first, because there isn’t anybody else.
