I have chosen to write about the film “I Robot”, because it is interesting and gives food for thought.
The film "I Robot", Director Alex Proyas, is a tale of a near future where robots have become commonplace and are entrusted to do all manner of tasks. The movie I based on a science fiction novel, by Isaac Asimov.
The film stars Will Smith as Del Spooner, a Chicago Homicide detective who does not trust robots and is highly suspicious of them. The year is 2035 and robots is a common thing among the public, never ones has a robot harmed a human being. The clear facts don’t seem to move Dels opinion about robots, Del is just waiting for a chance to bust a robot for a crime. He sees an opportunity, to make his fear of robot understandable for his friends and colleges, when an apparent suicide at U.S. Robotics is brought to his attention. The suicide is committed by a friend of Del, Professor Landing, who made a mechanical arm for Del, after he lost it in a car accident. The case seems to be a regular suicide, until Del digs a bit deeper and discovers a new model robot locked in the office of the victim, the robot flees from the crime scene and refuses to obey the orders to halt given to him. The fact that the robot ignores commands that violate his central laws of programming:
