The movie is about the disposal site-worker Jerry ( Jack Black) who, after a visit on the local powerplant gets “magnetized”, and accidentally deletes all the videos in the videoshop, where his friend Mike ( Mos Def) works. The two friends don’t want to disappoint the costumers, so they decides to remake all the movie, though in a very cheap and different way. As they progress the job seems to be impossible, but the two friends just keep on doing the best they can. In their mission, they meet a lot of people, some who are willing to help and others, who is just blocking the way. But will the two friends be able to finish their task?

Jack Black is playing the role as the disposal site-worker Jerry. Jerry is a adult man, but with no plans for the future. He is a regular costumer in the local video-shop, where his good friend Mike works.
Mos Def is playing the role as Mike, who works in the local video-shop and are Jerry’s best friend. Mike is young men, that has a lot of opportunities, but are too lazy to grab them. He’s life, and passion, is the video-shop. He doesn’t work as hard as he could, but he does what he can, but one day can change them all.
