In the video “Why US anti-vaxxers will refuse the coronavirus vaccine” A journalist from the Guardian is talking about anti-vaxxers. He has done his research. He mentions that he doesn’t know very much about these people and why they are against the vaccine. His first statement, In USA, reductions in the use of some vaccines were followed by increases in the diseases morbidity and mortality, and led to one of the biggest measles outbreak in a generation and if one in four won’t take the vaccine for Corona, could it be more deadly than the measles outbreak in 2019. The things the journalist uncover is mind-blowing. He found a guy named Andrew Wakefield and he claimed that the vaccine caused autism. All anti-vaxxers looked at him as he was their hero. Nevertheless, the idea of a link between vaccines and autism has been extensively investigated and conclusively shown to be false. In the video the words “theory” and “conspiracy” are used, because these antivaxxers don’t have any study to back up their statements. That’s really sad. People listen to what they have to say, so they could use this power to spread true information, instead of false information. In the article “’It’s psychologically easier’: how anti-vaxxers capitalized on coronavirus fears to spread misinformation,” a psychologist, Stephan Lewandowsky, have said,” Whenever people are scared and they have a sense of losing control, that’s when these things emerge because for some people belief in a conspiracy is giving them comfort. It’s psychologically easier.” In that statement, he uses pity. When a vaccine is made this quick it raises questions and when the questions aren’t answered, people need to make their own answers. In the article, they also mentions a mother and her child. The mother was an anti-vaxxer but when the doctor talked her through the risks and the real evidence, she was convinced to vaccinate her daughter. In the video, they judge anti-vaxxers. They see them as dumb people. They then educate the people watching the video with facts. The article on the other hand explains why anti-vaxxers are insecure about getting the vaccine. It’s fascinating to see them as ordinary people who just got misled by all the fake news on the media. We should look at anti-vaxxers and learn something from them. They like to share what they think, and we don’t have the courage to do that. Everybody got their stories about the corona virus, and it could be a manmade virus. The fact is, we don’t know all the answers, so we have to guess. In an interview with USA’s former president Donald Trump, Donald tries to calm everybody. From a large perspective, he handles the situation quite well. He speaks at a normal pace and no one is confused about what he says. He does not spread panic although the media is describing Covid-19 to be a killer virus that has about a 2 percent kill rate, which is actually a lot. When you hear about all the money his pumping into the pharmaceutical industry and hospitals, you smile. But people will still see each other in large crowds because their president have told on live television that there will be enough hospital beds and medical care to take care of this outbreak. That’s a problem. People need to face reality and stay home. He only encourages old people to stay home. If just a third of America gets infected, that’s about 100 million people, 2 percent of that comes to aproksemetly…, a lot of dead people. So wake up America. Money is not the way to go. It was smart to ban all flights from Europe but the virus is already in the country. The corona virus is spreading and if schools and large concerts don’t get banned then the US will have a major problem provide medical care for all those people. If anti-vaxxers stood together with Trump, things will and must go sideways. The fake information all these people are spreading is alarming. The vaccine is new to us all. Some people might get a little sick from the injections, but the majority of people will not. That’s a fact, and anti-vaxxers don’t use facts. They use their own educational background, and the problem is they don’t have one.
