Essay of Going home The short story “Going Home” by Pete Hamill tells the story of Vingo, a man who was in prison for the past four years. Vingo is a passenger on a bus from New York to Florida, where he encounters a group of young people. His reserved attitude makes them imagine different scenarios about his life. After a while one of the girls from the group approaches Vingo and tries to find out more about his life. At first, Vingo is reluctant to open to her, almost shy, but he accepts her invitation to join her group
