At the start of the movie, Mr. Gregory transported the black people to the prison on Robben Island in South Africa. On the Island, Gregory was responsible for reading the letters that the inmate had gotten and cut the things out that weren’t allowed to come in or out of the prison. When Mr. Gregory first arrived on Robben Island, he was a racist and he was making sure, that all the black people knew, that they were gonna have a hell, if they didn't do the things they were getting ordered to. Mr. Mandela was the most “fearful” man on the island, most at all because he was the one who had written the “freedom charter.” Mr. Mandela one day had a visit from his wife, they weren’t allowed to talk other languages than english, but they didn’t talk english but Xhosa, they just didn’t know that Mr. Gregory could understand and speak Xhosa. When Mrs. Mandela came home she was put under arrest, because Mr and Mrs. Mandela did talk about illegal things. Some days after Mr. Mandela’s son died in a car accident, Mandela was heartbroken. When it was Christmas Mr. Mandela begged Mr. Gregory to give Mrs. Mandela a little chocolate in present, and he did. A little time after Christmas, Mr. Gregory was transferred to a new prison. Mr. Mandela and his people were transferred to the same prison, and there both Mr. Gregory and his son were ordered to lead over that department. After a long time in that prison Mr. Gregory and Mr. Mandela had a kind of fight, with sticks and Mr. Mandela was the winner. One day Mr. Mandela had a visit from the whole family, and he had permission to touch them, the whole family was so happy to see and touch him. After some time Mr. Gregory’s son died in a car accident, Mr. Gregory was heartbroken and didn’t go to work in a long time. When Mr. Gregory came back, he had the chance to being transferred to a new prison, and he said yes. When Mr and Mrs. Gregory was transferred to the new prison everything was better, the house, the surroundings just everything and they were so happy. Mr. Mandela was transferred to the same place, he got his own house. After some time Mr. Mandela had a meeting with some really noble people, they were talking for a long time. Some days after Mr. Mandela was release from prison and could live his life. Mr. Mandela became president, and he published the “freedom charter” so everyone could read it. Mr. Gregory died in 2003 and Mr. Mandela died in 2013.
