The movie is about that Mr. and Mrs. Gregory is moving to Robben Island, because Mr. Gregory is going to be sergeant in the prison. But when they arrives, Mr. Gregory gets told that he is going to be the leader of section B. Nelson Mandela’s son gets killed in a car accident, after Mr. Gregory has told the leaders that, Mandela’s son has a car and a driver’s license. At Christmas Mandela gives Mr. Gregory a piece of Chocolate that he has to give to Mandela’s wife. Everybody starts to hate him and his wife, after he has given Mandela’s wife the chocolate, and they are being called Kaffer-lovers. When it gets too bad, they decide to move, and start all over again. They get moved away from the island were Mr. Gregory still can check Mandela and his people’s mail. In April 1982, Mr. Gregory is chosen to take charge of Mandela and his fellow prisoners in Pollsmor prison. When Nelson Mandela is in the prison he is allowed to talked to his family and touch them. Mr. Gregory’s son dies in a car accident, he stops working for a while. Mandela writes a letter to him were he says that he has compassion. At Christmas Mandela is with his Family, and Mr. Gregory and his family, is celebrating Christmas Eve without their son, Bert. Before Nelson Mandela’s release he has a meeting with the new president. And in 1990, Nelson Mandela gets released from prison, after being a prisoner for 27 years.
