The American Dream og 'The Pursuit of Happyness'

Write an essay in approximately 600 words about the American dream. Give a short definition of the American dream and discuss whether it is realistic in the 21st century. Include references to The Pursuit of Happyness. You may also refer to other material we have worked with in our course or find statistical data in support of your arguments.

It is not always easy getting out of our social class, but the big question is how much people would give up to achieving the American dream. The American dream is an old idea about a good country where life is good for everyone, and everyone has a chance to use their own talent. A country where social justice made everybody to follow their dream about a good life despite gender roles. The dream about living a good life without people who are living on the street like homeless people do. The American dream today is mostly about everyone are equal and achieving the dream about going from a normal life to live to good life. Everybody can achieve it with really hard work and a good willpower. The dream is for everyone mostly American citizen and immigrants because they live in Americain the Pursuit of Happyness we see a man called Chris Gardner, who a wiling to give up his wife for achieving the American dream. Chris Gardner is almost homeless; he has a home but can pay the bills, so he had to work really hard, sleep different places, study hard at night so he can get the job and he also have to take his kid out of daycare because he didn´t have any money to pay. He starts working very hard and have a lot of willpower to do it, at the end he gets the good job and make money on that. Then he is living the good life because he did achieve the American dream. I think the American dream is some kind realist and some kind not realist in the 21st century. I think people can reach it, in American by taking a chance and pray for it. In America I doesn’t think the dream are realist because their payment isn´t high and there is not so much help to get from the state like people do in Denmark.
