The reason the film gets 4 stars is that it's a good movie but the plot and meaning of the movie is so beautiful. Nelson Mandela fighting for his people and their rights is beautiful.
The reason for the not exactly for the last star is there may be some scenes in the film that are boring or places where you can't quite understand the context, but it's few places and if you want to understand how things worked back then, then you should watch this movie.

This movie by Nelson Mandela is a movie about what Nelson fought for and how his life was through the long struggle. He was an anti-apartheid activist. That means, he fought for the equality of blacks instead of the racial segregation that took place in 1948-1994 in South Africa.
Nelson Mandela is a man of opinions he wants to bring to life. He has had several different wives. The wife who goes through the time Mandela is in prison is Winnie Mandela and she ends up being taken in front of her children by the white police because they want some answers about her husband Nelson.
Nelson Mandelas wife has slightly mixed feelings. She is probably proud of her husband but she ends up in jail herself and being questioned about her husband. Winnie is taken away in front of her children.
