As I trudged down the seemingly never ending road, my thoughts returned to yesterday.
I had just gotten out of the bathroom when Tina ran over to me and gave me a kiss. “Isn’t it wonderful” she said, “in just 1 hour we are going to be married and then we will bet together forever”. The thought of no more one-night stands disturbed me a bit, but of cause I replied with; “Surely my dear, I cant wait but I must say that I am a little nervous. “ Oh but don’t be my sweet one, you’ll see it will be perfect”. “There will be flowers and bride girls in pretty dresses and my father will be there and then we will say yes to each other and it will be wonderful”. She then ran over to one of the decorators to tell her that what she was doing was wrong, or that she should put the flowers somewhere else. It had been going on like this for a week, since I first asked her to marry me. I had hoped for a quick wedding in Vegas or at the town hall. But she had other plans; she called her parents on the phone no more than 3 minutes after I had proposed, and gargled on about what sort of dress she wanted, which flowers she wanted, what color hair the bride girls she wanted should have and so on. All at their expense, I had argued that we should at least pay half of it but she said that her parents didn’t mind and that we were too poor anyway. But time went by as time does and very soon, perhaps too soon, the big day arrived.
