The Road Ahead

It all started at the party down in the city. Me and my friend Mike, was a little drunk. The ladies was really pissed on us, because we played a little too much with them, and Mike throw up at a girl, just when he was about to kiss her. The doorman had a good eye to us, and I thought that we soon was about to be kicked out. But suddenly a man came to us. He asked us about our names, and when we said that we were Mike and Cole, he told us to follow him. I had a strange feeling that this was not right. The man went down the street to a strange place where I never had been before. It was a very small alley, and all around there were niggers and alcoholics looking at us. In a while I felt a little scared, but Mike seemed to be very happy at the moment. I thought he had drunk too much, but then he began to talk to me about that this was very exciting, and he was looking forward to get some money or something of the man, since he asked of our names. The man stopped at a big tree door, and said to me and Mike that we should go in there and find a man called “Fishbone”, “just ask the bartenders” said he. Me and Mike stood in a while and thought the thing through. Then Mike opened the door calm, and went in without saying anything to me at all. I stood a little moment, but went also into the house a little after Mike. Behind the big door, there was a bar. Many men played carts, and there were beers everywhere. Mike walked slowly up to the bartender, and I went after. There was a very big noise in there, many yelled and knocked in the table when they loosed in poker. I still had a strange feeling inside of me, but I wouldn’t disappoint Mike, when he really wanted this. After a while we found a bartender, and asked for “Fishbone”. The bartender said that we should go to a backdoor down in the end at the room. It was 3 o´clock at night, and I was soon tired of walking after a man called “Fishbone” just because he know our names, but Mike told me to come with him, he promised to get me a beer after we had found the man. But that was not what I needed at the time, I wanted to lay in my bed and sleep.
