A second chance Hello everybody, my name is [NAVN A], I study sociology at the University of Maine. Today I will be talking about why it’s important for businesses to give ex-cons a second chance in society and at new workplaces. Right now, there are 2.3 million people incarcerated in prisons across the US. 97% of people in prisons right now will be released again, that’s 2.2 million people going to prison and coming back out again. Statistics show that about 30% of ex-cons will go back to prison within the first 6 months of them going back into society.
