Karakteranalyse af 'The Sin Bin or Lucy's Heart'

Lucy is the main character of the short story “The Sin Bin or Lucy’s Heart” by Lucy Cross. She is Bethans bestfriend, and Penny's ex best friend. She is a teeanger, and a great student. She has this fight with herself, about either listening to what Bethan wants her to do, and listening to her own heart. She is having a fight with herself, about either being a great student or a badass.

She has always been a good girl, and great at school. After Bethan asked her to be her best friend, things started to change. Bethan makes Lucy do bad things, such as hitting Penny and starting smoking. Line 15 page 35 “Bethan tells me that smoking helps you stay thin” in this sentence you can see that Bethan tries to make Lucy smoke, even tho her mother told her not to. Bethan forced Lucy to hit Penny and make her get detention.

While Lucy is in detention she starts to think a lot about what she did to Penny, and all the memories they had. Line 3 page 35 “I don’t hate Penny Jones. Poor Penny Jones”. Line 20 page 35 “i remember the night she told me about how her father used to hit her mum and she cried then, too”. In these sentences you can see that Lucy starts to think about Penny, and the memories together.
