We are located in the outback of Australia a glass-tipped spear pierces a man’s chest and he falls to the water. The events this scene has set in motion can no longer be stopped. Events including: the deaths of innocent men, broken hearts and a hell of a good movie. This is an essay of the movie “Australia”.
The movie makes its start in 1939 when Lady Sarah Ashley travels from England to Darwin Australia to force her husband to sell his failing cattle station called Faraway Downs. Her husband sends an independent cattle drover to transport her from Darwin to Faraway Downs but unfortunately he dies shortly before her arrival. He was impaled by a glass tipped spear. After learning to know the half-aborigine boy known as Nullah and the rest of the residents of Faraway Downs Sarah changes her opinion about selling the cattle station. She now want to make the impossible possible and drove the stations entire herd of cows all the way back to Darwin to sell them and get Faraway Downs back up and running.
Sarah Ashley starts out being a rich and firm-minded woman. From the moment her airplane lands in Darwin she is filled with disgust. She does not like the way people behave or looks. When she bumps into the drover he accidentally uses her luggage as a weapon in a fistfight. This of course pisses her right off. As the story progresses she starts to grow more and more fond of Drover and Nullah alike. But she never loses her stubbornness and firm-minded personality. She wants her will and will do anything in her power to get it no matter what.
