Tale om reality-tv, sociale medier og dyreforsøg

Hello everyone, I’m here to speak to you about some huge problems here in our society. I want to talk about 2 different things today. Firstly, I want to speak to you all about the problem that is reality TV and social media. Both social media and reality tv is harmful to many people, but mainly young people. Many teenagers watch these reality shows such as Keeping up with the Kardashians, Love Island, too hot to handle etc. Some young people even look up to the people in these shows, which can result in some insecurities. Such as Keeping up with the Kardashians, many young people, probably mainly the teenage girls look up to the Kardashian and Jenner women. This can result in insecurities though, they see all these perfect women on tv, with the perfect body. This can result in the fact that people want to look like them or people may think they’re ugly because they don’t look like Kim Kardashian or any other Kardashian.

The same problem repeats over most reality shows such as love island and too hot to handle. The young people also may think that these reality shows is real, yet the reality shows are so fake and most of the times the people in these shows have gotten a little manuscript, not showing them what to say, but say what will happened or good ideas how to react etc. The same problem repeats itself over to social media. So many young people look up to these superstars or influencers. Boys may look up to Cristiano Ronaldo and girls may look up to people like Kylie Jenner. This can get the young people jealous, they want to be as good looking as Kylie Jenner or have the same sixpack as Cristiano Ronaldo. This may again lead to insecurities and people to start seeing themselves as ugly or that they’re worth less because they don’t have the same sixpack, the same money or the same looks as these influencers. Even though this problem has come to light the past few years, I think we really should investigate this problem and start helping young people and make them feel safe and secure instead of giving them insecurities. That is my opinion on these reality shows and social media.
