Black Lives Matter is a movement that was officially founded in 2013 by three African American women, the movement has been ongoing ever since then, and has already made a huge impact on the African American community today, the reason I chose this topic is mainly because I think it is a very important topic to talk about, and I find it interesting how almost the whole world is supporting the movement.

It all started after the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, who was on his way to a family friends house when he was suddenly shot by an American man who was on patrol for his neighborhood watch. The movement was then born after Alicia Garza uploaded a post on Facebook where the phrase “Black Lives Matter” was first used publicly, after her post #BLACKLIVESMATTER was then surfacing all over the internet. For many years every time an innocent or unarmed African American was murdered, specifically by police, the internet would upload posts raising awareness, often using #BLACKLIVESMATTER.
