As I walking was the loud streets of London, I suddenly noticed a phone on the ground curiosity peaked, and I picked it up and scanned it for anything that could help trying to identify the owner of the phone. Finding nothing useful I decided to dial the last number while ringing I was starting to question it thinking perhaps it was a scam or id get accused of stealing it. My thoughts were racing when finally, someone picked up and said “Lily why are you not home yet” not really knowing what to say I just stayed quiet for a moment contemplating just hanging up and letting it be someone else’s problem but deciding against it. When the person on the other end asked “Lily are you there” I found the courage to say “excuse me for calling, but I found this phone on the street, and I just called the last number”.
Which was followed by silence on the other end I checked if I had accidentally hung up, but no the call was still active when they then followed with a simple “well is my daughters number where are you right now” she asked “um I’m walking down Notting Hill street” “and where exactly did you find the phone” I looked around searching for something identifiable spotting a bookshop “I'm next to a book shop called Notting Hil bookshop” there was silence for a moment. Until she said “I can be there In about 10 minutes to pick up the phone” she sounded like she wanted to say more but decided against it. Perhaps about her daughters whereabouts I thought when she said “did you see someone drop the phone or near it about like 16 years old and blond?” she said her voice laced with concern. I shook my head even though she couldn’t see me “No I didn’t see anyone. I just found it lying there.”
