Mule killers, is a story about a boy, who Is telling a story, that’s been told to him by his father, the story takes place on a farm whit a garden, his father works whit his father on the farm where they have a problems whit the mules, his father was at church, always looking at the same girl, Eula was her name, her smile was worth waiting, his was in love whit this girl, one day he saw Eula and another girl talking, when he politely greeted them, and asked if they wanted to go out for a soda, the other girl was delighted, and they went to the drugstore for a soda. Eula came by the drug store while they was sitting in a Oakwood silence, she didn’t even look at him, but he felt like she was absorbing everything that was happening, so when she was leaving, he kissed the other girl, and they left back to the farm, he takes her to the hayloft there was dark, trying to forget all about Eula and the made love. Couple weeks later his father had found out that he had made the other girl pregnant and said to him that it was wrong of him, but he wanted to marry Eula Parker. But that did not happen; this story his father told him was at a moment where he was tending the asparagus in his late mothers’ garden.
