Elvis Aaron Presley was born the 8th of January 1935 and he was known as The King of rock n’ roll. He grew up in a poor family in Tupelo, Mississippi, USA. His twin brother Jesse Garon Presley died in birth, because of that Elvis grows up as a lonely child. When he was thirteen, his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee.
Elvis was musically inspired by today’s pop and country music. His first musically experiences were in the local church, where he both sang gospel and listened to it. Before he got his breakthrough as an 18-year-old, he was truck driver in an IT company.
The 18th of July 1953 he recorded My Happiness and That’s When Your Heartaches Begin in Sam Philips’ studio, Sun records, as a gift to his mom. On 5th-6th of July 1954, he came back to record one record more, but he could not match the sound with what he wishes. The guitarist Scotty Moore and the bassist Bill Black were in the studio with him. In a pause, Presley began to clown with That’s All right (mama) and the other two joined him. Sam Philips recorded it on tape; there was the sound they had sought. After that, the group recorded Blue Moon of Kentucky, which was released as a single 8th of July. Philips had been looking for a long time after a white singer, with a voice like a black, and Elvis had that unique voice. Sun records sold, in 1955, Presley’s contract to RCA Victor, for 40.000, - dollars, 5.000 of that went to Elvis. That was the biggest contact sum ever. Elvis’ first record at RCA was Heartbreak Hotel.
