In Denmark we have very strict gun laws especially in comparison to America. Denmark only allow private firearm possession for the purposes of hunting, sport shooting, if you work for the military or police. License holders are allowed to own multiple firearms but have to get a separate permit for each weapon.
Only a dozen of the US's 50 states requires purchase permits for handguns. Of those states, only three (California, Connecticut and Hawaii) require permits for the purchase of rifles and shotguns. There are at least four states and one district that have setup a registry for guns, the states are; California, Hawaii, Maryland, New York and the District of Columbia.
