Life in the city

The war in Iraq started March the 20th, 2003, when the president of the United states Georg W Bush claimed war against Iraq with some other countries, like e.g. UK, Poland, Australia and Denmark.

President Bush claimed that Iraqs president Saddam Hussein had developed weapons of mass destruction and was helping the terror group Al-qaeda. That was the main purposes for Bush to make war against Iraq. The invasion of Iraq began on March the 20th. 2003 when a largely American force supported by UK, Australia, Denmark and Poland invaded Iraq. At 2 am USAs air force started a missile attack at Iraq. France, Russia and china was against the war. The Kurdish Mountain troops and Special Forces attack Iraq from north while UK attacked from south. After Saddam Hussein was gone under the ground in Iraq the 4th April 2003, the United States of America ended the military plans in Iraq. They started to look after Saddam and found him the 13th December. The United States of America attempted to establish a new democratic government. But it failed to restore peace in Iraq. The problems in Iraq became very bad and it turned out to be a civil war between many Sunni and Shia Iraqis and Al-Qaeda Operations in Iraq.
