1) Summary: The book is about to young people, the protestant girl Sadie and the catholic boy Kevin. They lives in Northern Irelands capital belfast. They have known eatchother for years, but they haven’t seen eatchother for a long time. Suddenly one day they meets again. They starts to see a lot more to eatchother, even thougt they know that their relationship is very dangerous, because of the many conflicts between Catholics and Protestants in the country. Off course their parents doesn’t support the relantionship, so Kevin and Sadie lies to their parents and meets secretly.

Meanwhile the situation in the country becomes more and more dagerous, the fights between Catholics and Protestans are more violent. Pubs are in flames, insults are written on the walls and the Two sides fights each other to the death.

Mr. Blake is an old Protestant widower, who lives outside the city alone with his dog. He is Sadie’s old geography teacher, he is very kind, so Sadie trust him and tells him all about her problems with the forbidden relationship with Kevin. Mr. Blake llikes Sadie, and he will help them. Sadie and Kevin can now see eachother in Mr. Blakes house. One day he invites them to go on a trip in his car to the country. While they drives the wheels of the car comes loose and they lost the control over the car and it ended in a caraccident. Sadie and Kevin wants to know who there is responsible for the accident. They have many suspicions but no poof. Kevin realize that it might be him, who is the cause of their problems. Before the accident he got on bad terms with his old Catholic friend, because Kevin didn’t want to fight against the Protestants. The religious conflict are still causing more and more victims.
