The Racial Separation in South Africa Apartheid was first heard of in a speech by Jan Christiaan Smuts in 1917, which became the premier minister of South Africa in 1919. Later it became cruel reality. The year is 1948 in the election between the Nationalistic Party (NP) and Smut’s United Party was won by NP in a close race. The new premier minster’s name is Daniel Francois Malan. And begins introducing Apartheid. The first changes were to outlaw marriage between colors. 1950, the Group Area Act starts.
