In 1795 the English people invaded the cape colony. The boers didn’t like that, so the moved.

The boers decided to leave the colony, and then would they build their own republics.

The problem was just that, when they wanted to replace a new spot, then where they just another republic. The greatest African nation was the Zulu kingdom. It was the biggest and best imperium. The Zulu kingdom, had also most soldiers of all imperium’s .

Shaka and the Zulu Kingdom

As Shaka grew older, he became tall and strong. He began to be a leader among the boys because of his physical abilities. However, Shaka was also very smart and ambitious

Shaka continued to train and build his army. He conquered many of the surrounding chiefdoms. At one point Shaka had a trained army of around 20,000 soldiers. Shaka was a strong but brutal leader. Anyone who disobeyed an order was immediately killed. He sometimes massacred a whole village in order to send a message.

The South African War

In 1899 the SAR issued an ultimatum to Britain and two days later the war was officially declared between Britain and the Boers. The first phase of the war was one of the set-piece battles, but from July 1900 onwards the Boers changed tactics. 500 000 British troops occupied until 1902. It was the bloodiest, longest and most expensive war Britain engaged in between 1815 and 1915.
