Aggression mod dommere i sport

All over the country parents and fans go to football-matches to support their children or dream-teams, but it doesn’t always take place in a nice and calm way. More often referees are being mentally, and in some situations physically attacked by the eager fans, parents and players. But why is this? Why can’t people act in a proper way when a referee makes a wrong call? It can happen for both teams. If we see back in the years the referees were much more respected, and they didn’t had to be scared of making a wrong decision, but lately people are beginning to act much more aggressive against them, and in some events they are being threat. I don’t think this is because the good sportsmanship is dead or doesn’t apply to fans. I think it is because we in the past few years have encouraged each other, and by that the top point of being aggressive has kept increasing. And the result of this is aggressive fans and tired out referees. I know from my own experiences, that it isn’t always easy to respect a referee’s decisions. I’ve tried to be deeply disagreeing with a referee and sometimes I’ve said stupid things, but never more than that. It is hard for a referee to have all the decisions right, so I think that its ridicules to start shout abuses. And I can’t even find the word for what I think it is, when people start throwing things and being physical against the powerless referees. I can’t see the point by doing that? It does not help the referee judge better, it makes him scared and insulted, and by that he will make even more mistakes. I have never experienced a situation of referee abuse ‘live’, but I’ve heard of it a bunch of times. And then of course there also were the situation in 2007 when Denmark played against Sweden where a drunken Danish spectator decided to interrupt the game when he tried to hit the referee. This is a very good example, ‘cause the following of this were that the referee called of the rest of the match and Denmark lost 3-0. This is a splendid example of how aggressive behavior against a referee ended up in only bad things. The spectators have gone way too far, so I think that it will be very hard to rectify again. I can only see one possibility and that is that the referees have to be a lot more consistent. If the spectators act foolish they just cancel the match. Then before or later they have to realize, that they must act in an appropriate way. I don’t think that referee errors make sport either of the possibilities. The referees try as hard as they can but it is unavoidable to judge flawless. Therefore is it the spectators who have to make sport exiting and controversial.
