Doping is a big problem in sports, there is not as much doping now as there were years ago, so it is not such a big problem now. The reason that the problem is being stopped is, now have we more control, and the systems we have now is really hard to beat. The doping I have heard most about is doping in cycling sports, where there is a lot of doping scandals. Many Tour de France winners have used doping to win some laps.
Some of the racing cyclists that have admit doping is Bjarne Riis, Danish racing cyclist who won Tour de France in 1996 with help from EPO, Bo Hamburger, Danish racing cyclist who took EPO after Giro d’Italia in 1995. He also tried with growth hormone, but he experienced that it did not work for him and it actually made him drive slower. Floyd Landis, American racing cyclist who after initially being awarded victory in the Tour de France in 2006, but a doping analysis after 17th lap showed that he had a testosterone level over the double of the limit value, and he then was tested positive. There are still some really big stars as Lance Armstrong, who never got tested positive, but have rumours of having doped. Ivan Basso who had a really good year against Armstrong in 2006, just planned to dope, but he never made it, because he got discovered in having calls with a doctor who should help him with the doping.
