In this story, So Much Water So Close To Home, is a young girl founded. It seems like she has been raped and then killed. The discovery is made by four young men, who are out for their yearly fishing trip. Natural you would immediately call for some kind of help after such a discovery, but the interesting thing in this story seems that the four men wait to report it until three days later. That is interesting, because they all seem to be naturally gifted, and normal people would notify such a thing soon as possible. The story is told in first person by Claire who is married to Stuart. Stuart does also wait until the following morning to tell, even though he turns home in the night. This is mysterious. It seems like he really don’t care about it.
Like reader we also get more information than the wife. We hear about how the four friends just found the body. They ties up the body to a tree to make sure that the body don’t float away again. Then they just continued their fishing trip like nothing ever happened. They even had a very funny time and drank a lot on the way, and it’s not until the end of their trip they remember about the dead body. So maybe they’re more implicated than first assumed.
