Cyberbullying: Anonymitet og dens konsekvenser

The article “the cyber-bullies are always with you” is telling; that it’s really easy for the bullies, to ruin the lives of teenagers in the internet, when they are anonymous. There are many examples in the article, how bullies taunted teenagers through the internet. One of them is; that there was a boy, who was taunted for months of his classmates, where they had spread rumors; that the thirteen years old boy was a gay, and there was a popular female classmate pretended to like him, and she chatted with him online only to copy his personal exchanges and share them with her friends, and when the boy felt it, he had killed himself.John Carr of the Children’s Charities’ Coalition for Internet Safety in London means; that reason to cyber-bullying is so harmful is that, its relentlessness. The internet doesn’t just increase the effect of bullying, however. The many options to remain anonymous when they’re online, is by using pseudonyms for instant messaging, say, and means people can write things, where they would not dare to, if their was known. And they tell that anonymity can also amplify the bullies’ negative effect on the victim.

B. Commentary and discussion:I agree with the quotation, I also have this attitude. There are so many people, who change themselves, when they use the internet or chat with a stranger through the internet. They do anything, which they never will do or try in the real life. When some bullies victimize their victims (as a teenager), they don’t have feelings, they only think of themselves, and they don’t care, how the other person (“victim”) fell, when they victimized the victim for example; that they had spread rumors. The quotation tells; that when people have a communication with a stranger who is anonymous through the internet, and when the anonymous sent any bad message, that lead to the victims acting really wrong, to do anything the victims would not dare to try in the real life.Here is an example of a movie, I had watched; a guy who always dreamt about getting married with a girl who was so sweet and so friendly and the most important, that she was really thoughtful about her husband. One day his friend had told him, that there are website, where single person could find a friend, where there could get a date. And the guy he tried the website, and he after all got some friends, but there were only one friend that gave him a really nice feeling. And he focused only on her and he began to massage with her. Now they were beginning massaging each other. Each time they massaged with together he did get a really weird feeling, and this feeling was called LOVE. The girl, the guy had massaging with was bully, but of course the guy didn’t knew, but if he knew it, he would refuse her, at once. The guy had told everything about himself to the girl, he also told that he is so lonely and he had never had had a girlfriend, and he is really embarrassed to tell her about this, but he felt something really nice, where his feelings told him, that he could believe in her and trust her. The girl had also told about himself to the guy, but everything the girl had told to the guy was insincere, and the girl’s purpose was to make him fool of. As I said she was a bully, and as we know the bullies love to make fool of innocent people. The girl had always told the guy; that she loved him so much, they had not seen each other, but they didn’t have to, so she called this for “real love”. And when the girl told all this, the boy believed in her. There were a day, where the guy asked the girl about having a date, but the girls answer was, that she never would have a date with a guy, who never had had a date. She told him that all that she had told him was insincere, and that he was a really stupid guy, who believed in everybody. The guy couldn’t believe the things that happened, he felled himself so unworthy, that he decided to commit suicide, and he did it too.
