You have been demanded a report on how you manage to attract and keep different staff groups the best. Therefore I have asked a couple of the employees on British Telecom’s workplace about how they experience their jobs.
The first person I talked to were a manager. She likes her job because she always can see the results of what she’s doing. It can be developing a brochure or commercials, but also that she can see the money coming through the door. Some of the skills she has noticed that you need to have is that, you have to be very organized, because you are always joggling with a lot of different things on the same time and at the end you have to be able to put it all together. Besides that she thinks there are many opportunities following the job.
A fact is that most people don’t like changes. Changes can be a bad thing, because it puts us in a situation of doubt and it is abnormal to the things we are used to, but her way of facing changes were different, she thought that every change should be faced with a thought of new opportunities. The younger people in British Telecom aren’t so afraid of facing changes, and trying new things. They love being innovative, and if the market change, so do they.
